Today, I will share with you the latest E-gasoline diesel engine data for the Hitachi excavator 4HK1 engine. I hope you can join the discussion based on the shared content.
Engine Features:
1. Uses an electronically controlled high-pressure common rail fuel injection system;
2. The intake system is equipped with an EGR waste gas recirculation device;
3. The cooling system adds an EGR cooling water channel and a turbocharger cooling water channel, using two thermostats;
4. The lubrication system oil pump is installed in the timing gear chamber;
5. The valvetrain adopts an overhead camshaft four-valve structure.
Engine Timing:
1. Align the crankshaft pulley mark with the front cover mark;
2. Align the camshaft gear mark with the cylinder head plane mark;
3. Align the high-pressure pump gear helical tooth mark with the sight hole mark (in the center of the sight hole).
Engine Thermostat:
Intake manifold side thermostat: Bottom bypass type, controls large/small circulation, opens at 82℃, fully opens at 95℃.
Exhaust manifold side thermostat (with swing valve): Straight type, controls large circulation flow, opens at 85℃, fully opens at 100℃.
Engine Liquid Sealing:
1. Whenever parts using liquid seal are disassembled, old residual sealant must be thoroughly scraped off from each part and mating surface using a putty knife. Clean oil, water, and dirt from the surfaces of each part. Before assembly, apply the specified type of liquid seal to the cleaned surfaces.
2. When assembling parts with liquid seal, ensure the liquid seal is not interrupted.
3. The parts must be reinstalled within 7 minutes of applying the liquid seal. If it has been more than 7 minutes, remove the liquid seal and apply a new coat.
1. Wipe clean water, grease, or oil from mating surfaces, ensuring all surfaces are dry.
2. Apply a uniform line of liquid seal on one mating surface, ensuring this line does not break.
3. Clean water, grease, and oil from connection surfaces of bolts, bolt holes, and screw threads. Apply Loctite to the first 1/3 of screw threads and tighten the bolts with the correct torque.
Important: Do not apply excessive torque or attempt to rotate the bolts after tightening them for at least one hour.
Valve Clearance Adjustment:
1. Adjust the valve adjuster screw while the feeler gauge is still in place, aligning the rocker bridge with the valve;
2. Tighten and check that the exposed threads are even on all sides.
High-Pressure Fuel Pump Disassembly/Assembly:
1. Match timing by observing from the high-pressure fuel pump sight hole;
2. When disassembling, note that the two seals on the fuel injector return oil pipe are connected together;
3. Disassemble, 2 bolts, 2 nuts;
4. Break down:
1. Separate the supply pump from the housing, with 3 bolts. When installing, it is recommended to tighten to the specified torque (1.9 kg.m) after the high-pressure fuel pump is installed properly.
2. Disassemble into three parts: supply pump, gear, housing. Only the supply pump needs to be ordered.
3. There are two O-rings, the larger one on the housing and the smaller one on the pump.
Cylinder Pressure:
Standard: 2.84-3.24 MPa Ultimate: 1.96 MPa (for 6HK1: 2.26 MPa) Difference between cylinders: 294 KPa
Fuel Injector:
Uses multi-hole fuel injector; 7 holes, 0.16mm hole diameter
Cylinder Bore:
Cylinder bore: 115.021-115.050mm; Ultimate dimension: 115.02mm
Cylinder housing bore divided into 1, 2, 3 grades;
Cylinder sleeve outer diameter divided into 1X, 3X grades;
Match (1, 2)/(1X), (3)/(3X);
Select piston grade based on cylinder sleeve bore
Electrical System:
Generator voltage: 27.5V-29.5V Excitation coil resistance: 4.3-5.0Ω (20℃)
Starter motor specifications: 24V/5KW Resistance value between electromagnetic switch and M terminal: around 1.6KΩ
Heater plug specifications: 23V/3.5A, resistance value not greater than 5Ω
