Causes of abnormal engine oil consumption :
 
The excessive wear of piston, piston ring and cylinder liner will make the oil flee into the combustion chamber, which will increase the oil consumption sharply. When the wear gap between the first piston ring and the cylinder wall exceeds 20 % of the normal value, the oil consumption will increase by more than 2 times. 
 
The wear of connecting rod bearing, crankshaft bearing or oil pump will lead to excessive clearance between bearing and shaft diameter, increase oil leakage, decrease pump oil pressure and accelerate oil consumption. 
 
When the thermal deformation of the cylinder liner exceeds a certain limit, the piston and piston ring cannot fully adapt to the deformation of the cylinder liner, and there will be a large oil channeling channel in the local area, so that the oil enters the combustion chamber and burns, resulting in abnormal oil consumption. 
Diesel engine water radiator heat sink dust blockage, water pump wear or poor work, water scale or blockage, etc., will lead to poor heat dissipation of diesel engine, abnormal oil consumption. 
 
 
The blockage of the air filter will reduce the inlet pressure of the combustion chamber, the negative pressure is too large, and the oil will flow up the combustion chamber, resulting in a sharp increase in oil consumption.
